Madellyn

Dental Hygienist

Madellyn graduated from the Westmead College of Dental Therapy in 1983 and went on to study Dental Hygiene at the University of Queensland and Public Health at Queensland University of Technology, achieving a Bachelors Degree in Health Science.

Madellyn has attained a wealth of experience working in the dental profession for over 30 years in many different dental settings across the ACT, NSW, QLD and Northern Territory. She has enhanced her orthodontic skills working alongside Dr Spiro Pazios since she joined the Embrace Orthodontists team in 2006.

The field of orthodontics is constantly evolving and Madellyn finds this both exciting and challenging. As new technologies are introduced, she thrives on learning these new skills, which benefits both the practice and our patients.

Madellyn is a professional, friendly member of our staff who loves her work as part of the Hygienist team and is committed to providing excellent service to our patients.

Kathryn

Dental Hygienist

Kathryn has been a vital part of the EO team since 2007. Kathryn graduated from Gilles Plains School of Pava Dental Studies, Adelaide in 1989 and has worked in both general dentistry and orthodontics ever since. Prior to that, she worked in orthodontic and periodontal surgeries as an assistant.

Transforming smiles and seeing patients evolve is one of Kathryn’s favourite parts of orthodontics. The wonderful team at Embrace makes it a fantastic place to come to work every day.

Kathryn is passionately involved with the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia (DHAA) and has held many roles within the association including being the DHAA President in 2017. She is particularly committed to their professional development programme and annual symposium.

Outside the workplace, Kathryn has three grown-up girls (with beautiful EO smiles) and enjoys running, reading, and making quilts. She loves to travel, especially to the UK, where she indulges in her love of all things historical.

Claire

Dental Hygienist

Claire joined Embrace Orthodontists in 2013. She holds an Advanced Diploma in Oral Health and Certificate IV in Dental Assisting. Her specialist training includes Panoramic Radiography, Intra-Oral Radiography, and General Anaesthesia & IV Sedation.

Claire’s industry experience includes Endodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontics & Dental Implants as well as General Dentistry. Claire brings a wealth of experience to Embrace.

A keen traveller, Claire is passionate about exploring beautiful parts of the world. A recent adventure was conquering the Kokoda Track, which she describes as physically challenging and an experience of a lifetime. We always look forward to hearing her plans for her next adventure!

Brenda

Dental Hygienist

Brenda joined the Embrace team in April 2015 after moving to Canberra with her family. Brenda is an Irish National and a natural people person with her Celtic warmth and sincerely caring personality.

Brenda’s orthodontic career commenced in Sydney in 2000 and includes achievements such as NSW DAA (Dental Assistants Association) course Dux followed by UCC (University College Cork) Colm O’Sullivan and Sensodyne awards (best academic results and highest achieving overall student).

Brenda is passionate about orthodontics and loves the variety of her work. She particularly enjoys making patients feel comfortable and well informed.

She strives to ensure patients have consistently positive experiences and enjoys getting to know them during their orthodontic journey.

Outside of her work Brenda is kept busy with her husband and three children, her labradoodle Olive, a wonderful group of friends and a busy family life. She adores the seasons in Canberra and is grateful to enjoy a great work life balance.
