Madellyn graduated from the Westmead College of Dental Therapy in 1983 and went on to study Dental Hygiene at the University of Queensland and Public Health at Queensland University of Technology, achieving a Bachelors Degree in Health Science. Madellyn has attained a wealth of experience having worked in the dental profession for over 30 years and in many different dental settings across the ACT, NSW, QLD and Northern Territory.
Madellyn has enhanced her orthodontic skills working alongside Dr. Spiro Pazios since she joined the Embrace Orthodontists team in 2006. The field of orthodontics is constantly evolving and she finds this both exciting and challenging. As new technologies are introduced, Madellyn thrives on learning these new skills, benefiting both the practice and our patients. Madellyn is a professional, friendly member of our staff who loves her work as part of the Hygienist team and is committed to providing excellent service to our patients.
Kathryn has been a vital part of the EO team since 2007. Kathryn graduated from Gilles Plains School of Pava Dental Studies, Adelaide in 1989. She has worked in both general dentistry and orthodontics ever since. Prior to that she worked in orthodontic and periodontal surgeries as an assistant.
Transforming smiles and seeing patients evolve is one of Kathryn’s favourite parts of orthodontics. The wonderful team at Embrace also makes it a fantastic place to come to every day.
Outside the workplace, Kathryn has three grown-up girls (with beautiful EO smiles) and enjoys running, reading and making quilts. She is passionately involved with the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia (DHAA) and has held many roles within the association. She was elected DHAA President in 2017. She is particularly committed to their professional development programme and annual symposium.
Kathryn loves to travel, especially to the UK, where she indulges her love of all things historical.
Sandra started her dental career in 1993 as a dental assistant, working in both the private and public sectors for 10 years. During that time Sandra completed numerous dental courses at CIT and in 2003 went on to study at Gilles Plains TAFE in Adelaide attaining her Diploma in Dental Hygiene. After graduation, Sandra returned to Canberra as a qualified Dental Hygienist working in both general and specialist surgeries, continuing to provide professional quality dental care to her patients.
Sandra continues to further her education, keeping up-to-date with the latest advances in orthodontics. Sandra joined the Embrace team in 2009 and continues to enjoy working with her knowledgeable colleagues in such a lively and professional environment.
Claire joined Embrace Orthodontists in 2013. She holds an Advanced Diploma in Oral Health and Certificate IV in Dental Assisting. Her specialist training includes Panoramic Radiography, Intra Oral Radiography, and General Anaesthesia& IV Sedation. Claire’s industry experience includes Endodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontics & Dental Implants as well as General Dentistry. Claire brings a wealth of experience to Embrace.
A keen traveller - Claire is passionate about exploring beautiful parts of the world. A recent adventure was conquering the Kokoda Track, which she describes as physically challenging and an experience of a lifetime! We always look forward to hearing her plans for her next adventure!
Headed up by Stacey, our clinical manager, our warm and friendly team of orthodontic assistants undertake various duties to ensure the smooth running of our clinical treatment area and provide an exceptional treatment experience for our patients. Between them, there is a wealth of experience in the dental industry, with extensive knowledge in various fields including orthodontics, general dental and prosthodontics. Most of our assistants are formally qualified, attaining Certificate III and IV qualifications, to ensure our patients receive the best level of care. Many of our assistants have a broad knowledge of the practice areas and are able to work simultaneously between our treatment area, reception, treatment coordination and our in-house lab.
Our assistants are involved with taking intra-oral photos, 3D scans, impressions, assisting our doctors and hygienists, as well as promoting good oral hygiene for our patients.
Erin, our reception manager, started at Embrace Orthodontists in 2003. Drawing on her years of experience at Embrace, as a trained dental assistant, treatment coordinator and receptionist, Erin has developed an A-class team of skilled receptionists who are ready to welcome you at your appointment. It’s reassuring to know that many of our receptionists are able to help explain the different treatment types available to our patients and what to expect at each appointment. If a patient has a concern during treatment such as a loose wire, our receptionists can usually assist our patients over the phone and advise what steps to take.
Our friendly and supportive treatment coordinators are your liaison during your initial consultation and throughout your treatment. Their ultimate goal is to ensure that your orthodontic journey at Embrace is a positive and enjoyable experience. Each of our treatment coordinators brings valuable skills and knowledge to the team with combined clinical experience and customer service in dental and orthodontics. Together, they provide support and advocacy for our patients, aiming to ensure that all patient needs are met and questions answered.
