Orthodontic problems we can solve
Whether you have crooked front teeth that have always bothered you, or you have a difficult time chewing because of your tooth alignment, orthodontics could be the answer for you. Take a look at some of the issues we can correct at Embrace Orthodontists.
Crowding
When your teeth overlap and there is not enough space in your mouth, we call this crowding. Crowding often causes oral hygiene issues, as it’s difficult to properly clean your teeth when they are overlapping. Orthodontic treatment can help improve your tooth and gum health.
Spacing
Spacing is the opposite of crowding, where there is so much room in your mouth that there are spaces in between your teeth. This can also cause oral hygiene problems, as food can get stuck in the spaces between the teeth. Luckily, spacing is easily solved with orthodontic treatment.
Overbite (overjet)
If your upper front teeth stick out far past your lower front teeth when you bite together, this is known as an overbite. If left untreated, this can cause uneven wear and tear on your teeth, digestive issues, and even increase the chance of injury to your protruding teeth.
Open bite
If you have an open bite, then your upper and lower front teeth do not meet when you bite down on your molars. This can make biting into food more difficult, and cause excessive wear on your molars.
Overbite
An underbite is the opposite of an overbite. When biting on the molars, the upper front teeth sit behind the lower front teeth. As with overbites, untreated underbites can cause unnecessary wear on your teeth.
Crossbite
A crossbite is when the upper and lower jaws are misaligned. This can also cause excessive wear on your teeth, and even temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ). Orthodontics can help.
