What are metal braces?

Metal braces are a tried and true teeth-straightening method. They are extremely cost effective, and can correct even the most complex orthodontic issues.

If you opt for braces treatment, a metal bracket will be fixed to the front of each of your teeth. A metal archwire will run through the brackets and it will all be held together with small rubber bands (elastics). This system puts gentle pressure on your teeth to guide them into alignment.

You will then come in for regular adjustment appointments so your Specialist Orthodontist can adjust the shape of your archwire and move your teeth as efficiently as possible to give you your dream smile.

Are some orthodontic brackets more accurate than others?

This is a common misconception. In reality, the accuracy of braces has nothing to do with the type of brackets used and everything to do with the archwire. The bends your Specialist Orthodontist makes in the wire are what move the teeth during treatment.
